Summer Face Routine

I love using this routine on hot summer days because it is lightweight, but covers nicely. I wear this about two times a week when I go out to lunch, shopping, etc. I mix two products together because my skin color changes all the time. I would have to buy new face products every week! I have been using these products for the past couple months and am in love :-)

Starting off with a moisturized and primed face (both spf), I mix together my BB cream and a little concealer to add coverage and match my skin.

Using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I blend it into my skin starting in the center of my face where I have the most discoloration.

I have pretty dark under eye circles, so I love using a brightening product. This L'oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter is an all-in-one product for underneath my eyes and a highlighter. I use it on the high points of my cheeks, nose bridge, and cupid's bow.

My skin is combination/oily so I set my face with the holy grail Dream Matte powder. I don't use it for coverage, but more to mattify the dewy finish of the BB cream and make my skin look more natural.

Underneath my eyes, I use a translucent powder to set the concealer instead of the Maybelline powder so it doesn't cake up.

Next, when I am in a hurry, I skip blush and just use bronzer on my cheeks, putting a bit extra on the rest of my face.

Then I am done! It usually takes me 5-10 minutes to complete.

I love how this makes me look a lot less shiny, but still natural. What are your favorite face products?

Floral Lace

I spent the day at a friend's open house, and afterwards went and saw the movie Man Of Steel (which was wonderful). It was such a nice day outside, so I felt like a bright color was in order. This peplum style top has a gorgeous collar and floral lace-like cutout print.  It is so comfortable, yet it makes me feel more put together!

The back of this top has the cutest round yellow buttons.

Mess Free Maple Bacon

I made my dad a surprise brunch on Father's Day, so I wanted to make something special. I made pancakes, eggs, and maple bacon! Maple Bacon is one of the easiest things to make, and by cooking the bacon in the oven rather than a pan, it is less messy. Now it is not the best health wise, but this is so yummy and perfect for 'cheat days'! Different from regular bacon, the maple flavor is the perfect compliment.

Ingredients + Tools
Bacon of choice (turkey, vegan, thin/thick slice)
100% Maple Syrup - make sure it is REAL maple syrup
BBQ Brush
Cookie Sheet + Aluminum Foil
Wire Rack (Optional)

First,  preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a cookie sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil, this will make the cleanup process SO easy. I personally like to place my bacon on a wire rack so more of the fat and maple syrup drips off.

Try not to overlap the bacon too much
Bake the bacon for 15-20 minutes keeping careful watch. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of the bacon and how crispy you want it.

Next, brush on a thin layer of maple syrup on the bacon and put it back in the oven for 2 minutes to let the maple flavor really absorb and coat the bacon.

After, remove the bacon and pat dry with paper towel, and placing it on a plate without paper towel afterwards. This is because letting the bacon cool on the paper towel will make the maple syrup stick to the paper towel.

L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Concealer

I am a huge concealer junkie, and after I saw MakeupByAlli talk about it, I was hooked. I bought mine from my local Ulta, but it is available in most drugstores with the price varying from store to store (I got mine for $8). My face is naturally a lot lighter and more pink in tone than the rest of my body, so I opted for a warmer shade, W 6-7-8, which matched my skin pretty well.

It is a super creamy concealer perfect for redness, blemishes, hyper pigmentation, and dark areas! One thing I would not recommend is using it for dark circles, since it is not moisturizing enough. It will definitely cake up underneath the eyes. It is not moisturizing, but a bit on the dry side, helping it last longer, but not great for dry patches.

On days where I don't have a lot of time, I skip foundation(tinted moisturizer/BB cream) and just use concealer where I need it.This blended in so  effortlessly, and was easy to pat on blemishes.
